Memorizing

From the time I was little, I have memorized everything I could! We have a video of me when I was two reciting the Veggie Tales "Story of Flibber-o-loo. I had a book in front of me, but I couldn't read it. I was just reciting it. It's really cute. If you don't remember The Story of Flibber-o-loo, I will paraphrase. It was also a Veggie Tales movie, and a fine one at that. Here we go:
Larry the Cucumber lives in Flibber-o-loo, a town where everyone wears a shoe on their head.
Junior Asparagus lives next door in Jibber-dee-lot, where they wear pots on their head. The two towns don't like each other at all. When Larry goes walking with his pet wind up lobster, he is attacked by thieves and his head is stuck in a hole. They steal his shoe and his lobster and run away. Next a doctor and a smart guy come along and both don't want to help him because he is from Flibber-o-loo. Finally, after much singing, Junior from Jibber-dee-lot comes along and helps "the poor fellow with his head in a hole." All is resolved, everyone is stunned and happy, and now instead of throwing shoes and pots at each other, the towns throw candy and flowers.
If you are really confused, take the story of the Good Samaritan and make it a Veggie Tales story.
Just because I feel like it, here is a nice video to kill some more of your time:
The Story of Flibber-o-Loo

Jumping to present day:
Two weeks ago, I memorized this:

9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.[a] Do not be conceited.
17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written:
“It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[b] says the Lord.
20 On the contrary:
   “If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”[c]
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12:9-21
You should too, by the way. Anyway, our Pastor preached on memorizing the Sunday of the week that I memorized that, so I told him about it, and he had me recite part of it (9-16) the next Sunday. Whew! It was nerve racking, but fun!
I've been asked if I am going to continue memorizing the rest of Romans 12, which would be verses 1-8, which are:

1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. 4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your[a] faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead,[b] do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

I guess I am going to. If I can memorize 18 verses in a couple of days, this should be easy! Then I can say I have a whole chapter of the Bible memorized!
Do you have anything memorized? You should!
